Let's talk about the word OPTIONAL

Why does a Junior High feel it's necessary to use a word like OPTIONAL? Do they honestly think a kid, in that age group, is really going to make a wise choice and do whatever it is that is "optional"?

Griffey has soccer conditioning three afternoon this week. He called after school to ask if he had to go, I asked if he was not going try out for the soccer team after all, to which he replied "YES MOM....but this conditioning is only optional, so I don't have to go"....my blood pressure hit 200/190 about then...do NOT give that kid an option, he will always choose the easy way out.

So, being the Mom that I am....guilted him by telling him I didn't care what he did, but if he thought he had a chance of making the team without the conditioning, then fine, it was up to him....so, I must leave now, gotta pick the brat up from "optional" conditioning!!!!!!

Gift Cards

You know, I really think it's great when people give gifts...don't get me wrong, my kids LOVE gift cards, to them they are just like money, only they forget they have them!

Please tell me why ANYONE would actually buy a kid a gift card that starts deducting money if it is not used?! I just found a stack of gift cards, some used partially, some not, some have a zero balance...and those are the ones that lost money due to no use.

Wal Mart gets two thumbs up for their gift cards, they never expire, they never deduct anything for not using them. Why can't EVERY gift card be like that?!?!

OK....that's my gripe at the current moment...of course I will have another one soon, when the kids get home from school and realize they have this extra "money" laying around, they are going to HAVE to spend it right now you know!!! LOL

What is normal?

I would love to get back to normal. School has been in since August, and since both boys are now in the same school, a beautiful yellow bus picks them up, I have yet to find my normal routine! It's really crazy, I feel like I'm in limbo on the days that I do not have definite plans. Then, of course, feel guilty for taking a nap. I even felt guilty this morning for going back to lay down after they left and I feel like crud!!

Back on the wagon!

Well, we have been on Weight Watchers now, hmm....well, this was my third weigh in. I went up .6 pounds! Randy did go down. But it is so discouraging, and I know going up that little could simply be water retention. I did this before, been down this road. But I still want to SCREAM! But I'll make it. My clothes are fitting a bit better.

Hopefully next week's weigh in will be way better!!!!!! Wish us luck!

It's been a loooong time!

Good Morning Everyone!! I can't believe it's been since February since I last blogged! A lot has gone on...Wow, where to begin?!?!

Let's see...both boys are now in Junior High, so the red Dodge gets a little bit of a rest now, although I have found some more tennis teams to join and also some more elementary schools to volunteer at, although I no longer have kids in elementary school...yes, I am a freak! LOL

Randy chose July 4th this year to have his holiday hospital stay for the same ol' cellulitis, he has now agreed to listen to me when it comes to his health, we'll see how that works out for us, not holding my breath! LOL

I could go on and on....since it has been so long, but I guess it would get long and drawn out, so I'll start with a HELLO and I've missed all of you and will be catching up with you guys!!!!!!!

Christmas In February!!!

Yup! I got to celebrate Christmas again today!! First off, let me thank Kori for organizing the Secret Santa Shindig, and then of course....my new Secret Santa...Jody! She totally made my day! This week has not been the world's best....but she really brightened it!

Thank you, Jody, you totally ROCK and I absolutely LOVE everything so so so so much!!!

I'm so glad it's Friday!

I hate cold weather. I think this has been established. This week has been bitter cold, I mean, for Florida anyway, LOL I hate having to get out in it daily, to take Griffey to school and then to pick him up So, I'm really ready for 2:00 today. I'm ready to park the car and NOT drive when it's cold! LOL
